Susan Royer has been a private piano teacher in the Upper Perkiomen Valley since 1990. She has a B.S. in Christian Education and studied piano pedagogy with Ina Grapenthin and Ruth Ann Moyer. She is organist at Shenkel United Church of Christ in Pottstown, PA as well as a frequent guest organist for weddings and funerals. Susan has mentored numerous students in accompanying for choirs/choruses, orchestras, and jazz bands at their schools and churches.
Susan is a long-time advocate of music and the arts in the Upper Perk Valley. She has spent many hours supporting school bands and choirs, and is also co-coordinator of Make Music Upper Perk, a community-wide music festival that takes place in several locations around the Upper Perkiomen Valley and joins the annual event, Fete de La Musique, in hundreds of cities around the world. In addition to Susan's direct instruction, there have been several advanced older students who have in turn taken on a few young beginner students of their own as student teachers under Susan's mentoring and supervision.
